Patient Resources / Symptoms

A starting point—not a diagnosis

Use an external symptom tool to organize questions, then contact Sapphire for child-specific guidance.

A symptom checker can help you organize what you are seeing and decide what questions to ask. It cannot examine your child, make a diagnosis, or replace professional medical judgment.

Approved pediatric symptom checkers

Start with the HealthyChildren.org Symptom Checker from the American Academy of Pediatrics. The Children’s Colorado Symptom Checker is another pediatric resource. Families who use the MyChart app may also find symptom guidance there. These third-party tools are not reviewed or controlled by Sapphire Pediatrics.

Call Sapphire for a child-specific recommendation. Call 911 for a life-threatening emergency. A baby younger than 3 months with a rectal temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher needs prompt medical evaluation. If your child is rapidly worsening, having trouble breathing, difficult to wake, or cannot safely wait, seek urgent medical care rather than continuing an online questionnaire.
