Website Privacy Policy

Contact the practice with questions or to request a paper copy or accessible format.

This Website Privacy Policy explains how Sapphire Pediatrics (“Sapphire,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit this public website. It applies to website information and does not replace our Notice of Privacy Practices, which explains how the medical practice may use and disclose protected health information under HIPAA and other applicable law.

The Children’s Hospital Colorado MyChart portal, guest-pay service, pediatric symptom-checker resources, social-media services, and other websites linked from this site are operated by third parties. Their privacy policies apply when you use those services.

Do not use the website for emergencies or private medical messages

Do not submit symptoms, photographs, medical records, insurance details, Social Security numbers, payment-card information, or other sensitive patient information through a general website field or administrative email. Use MyChart or another secure method specifically approved by Sapphire for patient communication.

info@sapphirepediatrics.com is for administrative needs only. Email and ordinary website communications may not be secure or reviewed immediately. Call 911 for a life-threatening emergency. Call 720-941-1778 for time-sensitive guidance.

Information we may collect

Depending on the features you use, we may collect:

  • Information you provide: your name, email address, telephone number, and the contents of an administrative, employment, or accessibility inquiry.
  • Technical information: Internet Protocol address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, date and time of a visit, approximate location derived from an Internet Protocol address, and diagnostic or security logs.
  • Cookie and similar-technology information: preferences, session information, security signals, and aggregate information about site use.

The public site is intended for parents, guardians, patients able to use it under applicable law, and other adults. It is not designed to ask children under 13 to submit personal information directly. If you believe a child submitted personal information through the public site, contact us so we can review the request.

How we use information

We may use website information to operate, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the site; respond to administrative, accessibility, or employment inquiries; understand aggregate site use; improve navigation and content; detect misuse or security threats; maintain appropriate business records; comply with law; and protect the rights, safety, and property of patients, visitors, the practice, and others.

We do not use the public website to make patient-care decisions. A website inquiry does not create a clinician-patient relationship, schedule an appointment, or guarantee a response.

Cookies, analytics, video, and similar technologies

The site may use cookies or similar technologies necessary for security, preferences, performance, embedded media, or aggregate analytics. Browser settings may allow you to block or delete cookies, although some features may not work as intended. A video, map, portal, or other embedded or linked service may collect information under its own policy when it loads or when you interact with it.

Sapphire does not sell personal information for money through this website. If future advertising or data practices qualify as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable law, this policy and any required user controls will be updated before those practices begin.

How we may disclose information

We may disclose website information to service providers that host, secure, maintain, analyze, or support the site under appropriate contractual and confidentiality requirements; when required by law or valid legal process; to protect rights, safety, security, or property; in connection with a merger, reorganization, sale, or transfer of the practice as permitted by law; and with your direction or consent.

Protected health information

Information becomes protected health information when it is created, received, maintained, or transmitted by a HIPAA-covered entity or business associate in a context covered by HIPAA. Our Notice of Privacy Practices—not this Website Privacy Policy—governs the practice’s use and disclosure of that information.

Do not assume that every health-related fact entered into a public website, search engine, social network, or third-party symptom tool is protected by HIPAA. Use the secure patient portal or another Sapphire-approved method for clinical communication.

Security and retention

We use administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to protect information appropriate to its nature. No website, email, transmission, or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, to maintain security and business records, and to meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by information type and system.

Your choices and requests

You may adjust cookies through available browser or site controls, choose not to submit information through the public website, or contact us to ask about website information you provided and request correction or deletion. We may need to verify identity, and legal or operational exceptions may apply.

Rights concerning medical records are described in the Notice of Privacy Practices and are handled through the medical-record process. The Colorado Privacy Act applies only when its scope requirements are met and contains exemptions for specified data and activities. We honor verified requests as required by applicable law.

External links

Links to MyChart, guest pay, pediatric health resources, government resources, forms hosted elsewhere, and other third-party sites are provided for convenience. Sapphire does not control their privacy, accessibility, security, accuracy, or availability. Review the third party’s policies before submitting information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site, vendors, and law change. The current version will be posted with its effective or last-updated date, and material changes will be communicated when required by law.
