COVID RESULTS AND 

ILLNESS GUIDANCE (3/8/23)

Please read up to date CDC guidance HERE before calling the office

There is no specific treatment for Covid.  

• All treatment is supportive.  Drink plenty of fluids, manage fever/pain with Tylenol or ibuprofen, and rest. 
• For younger children/infants, pay particular attention to clearing the nose so they can drink and breathe comfortably.  
• If your child has trouble breathing, fever more than 5 days, or signs of dehydration, call for advice.
• Covid positive patients will be seen via video visits only.   
• Our providers can determine via video if your child is having an emergency or can continue to be cared for at home.

 SCHEDULING AND MASKS 

• We strive to keep well and sick patients separate.  PLEASE reschedule your well visit if you have ANY signs of illness.
• If you have ANY illness symptoms, face masks are required for both you and your child (over age 2) for the duration of your time in the office.
• As of 3/8/2023, masks are optional for patients/parents with NO illness symptoms of any kind.  Please continue to keep our staff and other patients safe.

Sapphire uses high-quality rapid molecular tests. We comply with CDC guidelines for testing strategy, as well as reporting of all results to the state.

Testing fees:

• Patients:  billed to insurance
• Non-patient rapid testing $75

Through the pandemic, we've been taking care of your children in expanding ways...via traditional in-person visits, by virtual video visits, by telephone, and we even did "car visits" in 2020-2022.

Thankfully the super-scary time has passed, however we aim to maintain most of the enhanced access to care.  

Telephone Visits:   

• For simpler calls that can be handled by our triage staff.  More complex visits may be handled by a provider.  
• All advice calls may generate a charge.  Thank you for continuing to value our expertise, whether in person, via video or phone, or after hours.

Video Visits:  

• These will be via MyChart.  You must have your account set up in advance. Please test your connection in advance of your appointment.
